Monty Wallis

Monty is a Billings native and longtime local broadcaster. You may remember him on KOYN and Y-93 radio stations and most recently as General Manager of KTVQ-2, a job he retired from at the end of 2009. Monty and Duane Demars developed the CMYRYD.com website while at Q-2, purchasing it in July of 2010.

His first car was a 1951 Buick Roadmaster, followed by a 1955 Ford Crown Victoriaboth of which he would still like to have today. His latest work-in-progress is his 1974 Chevy Nova.

Duane Demars

Duane grew up on a large cattle and wheat ranch in central Montana. His first set of wheels was an old 1937 Chevy pickup with a top speed of about 20 mph. Growing up around cars was a way of life; he owned a total of 90 cars during his life to date.

At age 64 he built his first street rod- a 1950 Chevy which became his signature car. He started a list of all the car shows in a four state region in 2000 followed by two books on classic cars. When CMYRYD was started it created an entire new challenge in life.  Duane passed away on December 7th, 2017.  He was loved and respected by all who knew him.  He will be missed.
